Music Day

Music Day is an annual music event at our school. It includes Inter-class singing competition, Inter-house musical competition, Solo and group singing competition, and instrumental performances. Through various forms of competitions and performances, we aim to create opportunities for every student to step onto the stage, cultivate their interest in music, and build their confidence and sense of belonging to the school.

In Music Day, the Inter-house musical competition is the highlight performance of the entire event. As a musical combines elements of music, drama, dance, and visual arts, it is more challenging for the performers yet more engaging to the audience. Performing an English musical also helps improve students' English proficiency. In previous Inter-house musical competitions, students have performed famous musicals such as "Beauty and the Beast," "The Lion King," "High School Musical," and "Frozen." The preparation process is entirely student-led, including singing training, choreography, costume design, and more. Students are required to think about how to stage the musical with limited resources, which further stimulates their self-learning abilities and imagination.

School Anniversary Musical

Over the years, Concordia Lutheran School has been dedicated to promoting English musicals. Performing in a musical not only cultivates students' artistic and performance abilities, but also enhances their teamwork and communication skills, boosts their confidence and self-expression, and enriches their learning and life experiences.

In both 2008 and 2024, our school held musical performances as part of the school celebration, showcasing the famous English musicals "Madagascar" and "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". In addition to on-stage training, students were also responsible for backstage work such as makeup, costumes, and lighting. Students took the initiative and actively participated, and students and teachers worked together as a team to successfully complete a total of three musical performances. The performances received great acclaim and became a memorable highlight of the students' high school experiences.

Music school teams and instrumental classes

Music school teams and instrumental classes are opportunities for students to showcase their talents and enjoy music to the fullest. Participating in these extracurricular music activities helps develop students' musical skills and enhances their musical literacy. Additionally, it also nurtures creativity, expressive abilities, and critical thinking. Therefore, Concordia Lutheran School has consistently offered various types of music clubs and instrument training classes, including:

The music school teams perform at various major school events each year, including Music Day, School Anniversary Ceremony , and Graduation Ceremony. They also participate in different inter-school competitions. Through rigorous training and persistent efforts, our music teams have achieved outstanding results in recent years' inter-school competitions.
