Organized by the Chinese Department, our school's major annual event, the "Eloquence Challenge," has concluded with resounding success. The competition was marked by an enthusiastic and competitive atmosphere, where students from all teams fully showcased their strengths. Following multiple rounds of intense competition, Class 3C captured the Overall Championship, while Class 4A secured the Overall 1st Runner-up title. The school extends its warmest congratulations to both winning classes.
This event was designed as a dedicated platform for students to express themselves, aiming to encourage the flexible use of both Cantonese and Putonghua while fully unlocking their bilingual oral communication potential. Standing on the stage with composure and confidence, the participants delivered elegant and decent performances. Whether delivering highly engaging extemporaneous speeches in Cantonese or presenting clear, rhythmic recitations in Putonghua, they infused their deliveries with rich emotion and vivid expression. The competition featured a diverse array of segments, including prose recitation, tongue twisters, and video dubbing. Students also took turns tackling challenges in vocabulary reading and mutual translation between Cantonese and Putonghua. They fully demonstrated a solid linguistic foundation, quick wits under pressure, and sharp logical thinking, which beautifully reflected the fruitful outcomes of our school’s bilingual education.
By boldly taking the stage to challenge themselves, our students accumulated invaluable communication experience through practical application, resulting in a significant enhancement of their oral proficiency. The school hopes that students will continue to practice diligently in their daily lives, leverage their bilingual strengths in Cantonese and Putonghua, express themselves with confidence on various occasions, and continue to shine with eloquence on even greater stages.
